Helping Children to Rise
Tennis is the game of life for life. Providing the right atmosphere for children to succeed is critical. For over 30 years, I have developed a system that has helped junior players reach their goals of playing college tennis and beyond. The system includes on-court skills training (including strategic and mental skills), fitness programs, video analysis, tournament play coaching support, and an assisted college recruitment plan. The goal of The Davis Foundation is to provide this proven support system to children who have the potential and the passion to reach the performance levels required to be recruited by excellent academic colleges with tennis scholarship programs.
COACH CALVIN DAVIS: THE VALUE OF TENNIS
COACH CALVIN DAVIS: WHAT IF CHARLOTTE COULD CREATE NEW PATHWAYS OF OPPORTUNITY?
Mission
Tennis is a vehicle for scholarship opportunities as we continue to nurture and support pathways to higher education.
Vision
To believe in and support underprivileged children who want to change the trajectory of their lives through tennis.
“My father Calvin Davis, Sr., believed everyone deserved a fair chance in life, and education was the way to do that. So many people have said to me, ‘Your father is responsible for me being the person I am today.’ My father taught me to reach back, give back and help raise up those often overlooked.”

The Davis Foundation Award Selection
Who will receive the awards, and how will they be selected?
Student-athletes supported by The Davis Foundation will be selected through observation based on a combination of their immediate needs and long-term potential.
These assessments will be considered through recommendations, observation, and interviews of both the student, the student’s guardians, or organizations showing interest in that student.
Qualities considered will include personal behavior, academic achievement, compassion for the sport, and dedication to achieving one’s goals. The Davis Foundation will also welcome the support of parents, organizations, and other parties interested in seeing the student succeed.
